Asphalt Paving SuperintendentSeeking a dedicated and ambitious individual who works well under pressure and possesses a strong work ethic to join our Dickinson Operations as an Asphalt Superintendent. This position is seasonal (40 weeks, approximately Apr-Nov) and will assist to supervise operations of asphalt paving – both municipal and highway – including milling and chip seal.Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to –Oversight: production, equipment (needs and maintenance), personnel, quality control testing, documentation, communication with General SuperintendentRead and understand plans and specificationsAssist with testing and mix design by working with testing personnel in various capacitiesWork with the owner's representativeEnforce safety regulationsEfficiently operate equipment used in road constructionTrain crew members to become efficient equipment operatorsPrepare various daily reports and track quantities of daily workAssist General Superintendent to hire field crew (i.e. truck drivers, operators, laborers)Perform other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation dictatesExperience:Required: 2 full seasons crew supervisionPreferred: 3 full seasons crew supervision & 5 full seasons on an asphalt crewJob Requirements:Ability to pass written/performance exams to receive certification in basic aggregate & hot mix asphalt testingPossess a valid driver license with a clean record (Class A or B license preferred)Ability to lift 60 lbs on occasion, reach, grasp, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and squatAbility to see and hear well (either naturally or with correction) and speak clearlyCommon-level verbal and written communication skillsTravel required within a 300-mile radius of Dickinson, ND; our recent work has been concentrated in/around the Dickinson & Williston areas.Compensation & Benefits – Competitive Salary!
