Asphalt Mill OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Asphalt Mill Operator to work on our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt milling equipment used to remove existing pavement and prepare surfaces for paving operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring milling activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to project specifications.ResponsibilitiesOperate asphalt milling machines to remove asphalt pavement to specified depths and gradesMonitor milling depth, slope, and grade to ensure compliance with project specificationsEnsure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of qualityMaintain equipment and perform basic repairs as neededCommunicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budgetDevelop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlinesEnsure that all equipment is properly maintained and that safety procedures are followed at all timesIdentify and resolve issues that arise during construction projectsProvide on-the-job training to new operators as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, with experience in an asphalt setting preferredKnowledge of asphalt paving, roadway construction, and milling operationsAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiencesStrong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvementExperience with government contracts and compliance is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
