This position is with an individual who is dually diagnosed who uses ASL to communicate.Job Descriptions/DutiesAssists individuals in daily activities including daily hygiene functionsImplements behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs and other team recommended programs and procedures.Assists in the completion of individuals assessments.Supervises and assists in the preparation of food for individuals following special prescribed diets and food consistency.Provides active treatment to individuals.Models positive adult roles in the communityFosters community belonging through person-centered appropriate activitiesProvides meaningful community experiences to individuals.Maintains specified level of supervision of individuals in the community.Documents case notes, communication logs, programs, incident reports, abuse and neglect reports, safety reports, fire drills, time sheets, mileage forms and other required documentation timely and accurately.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 6 months-related experience and/or training, or human service training certificate.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Connecticut Driver's LicenseAbility to obtain the following licenses/certifications:Department of Developmental Services - Medication Certification (to be obtained within six months of hire)Public Service License valid for the state of Connecticut (if applicable)CPR and First Aid certificationSalary: $18.25/hr.
