The Role
We are seeking an experienced ASIC Engineering Technical Leader to lead the design and development of high-speed analog integrated circuits for optical transceiver applications. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role involving transistor‑level circuit design, silicon validation, technical mentoring, and ownership of complex chip development from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, simulate, layout, characterize, and productize high-speed analog ICs in CMOS technologies.
- Design high-speed analog building blocks including Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIAs) and Driver circuits.
- Lead the development of complex ASICs, providing technical direction and mentoring to engineering team members.
- Drive project execution by tracking technical deliverables and participating in design reviews.
- Establish robust analog design methodologies from concept through production.
- Collaborate closely with packaging, hardware, and system teams to ensure signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) requirements are achieved.
- Define wafer test strategies, qualification plans, and support product validation activities.
- Contribute to silicon characterization, measurement, debugging, and product optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or master's in electrical engineering or a relevant PhD. with several years of relevant experience
Required Technical Experience
Strong hands‑on experience in the design, simulation, and measurement of:
High-Speed Analog ICs
- Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIAs)
- Linear Drivers
- Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGAs)
- Equalization circuits and techniques
Core Analog Circuits
- Bias circuits
- Voltage regulators
- Operational amplifiers (Op-Amps)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- Electrical transceiver applications, including backplane and cable communications
- CMOS and FinFET process technologies
- High-frequency analog layout techniques
- Passive component design, including inductors, transformers, and transmission lines
- Chip floorplanning, including power distribution, grounding, and analog/digital signal routing
- Custom transistor-level layout
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Silicon characterization, wafer testing, and product qualification
- Cadence Virtuoso
- Spectre, Spectre APS, and Spectre X
- MATLAB
- EMX electromagnetic simulation
