Job Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech and swallowing therapy services to patients ranging from toddlers to elderly adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves timely and compassionate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress. The clinician delivers accurate evaluations and progress reports to the referring physician to ensure effective patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations for speech, language, and swallowing abilities, including hearing screenings.
• Prepare detailed reports with recommendations following each diagnostic assessment.
• Administer direct speech and swallowing therapy according to physician-prescribed plans of care, documenting patient responses.
• Maintain thorough records including evaluations, care plans, and daily therapy notes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare services to coordinate therapy programs.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques to caregivers or responsible parties assisting with rehabilitation.
• Supervise and evaluate assistants involved in speech and swallowing therapy to ensure quality service.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Reassess patient progress regularly and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Facilitate referrals to community agencies or additional therapy programs when appropriate.
• Promote awareness of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders through staff education and community outreach.
• Maintain liaison and follow-up with community resources.
• Apply clinical judgment and specialized skills to care for patients considering their age and diagnosis.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or related field.
• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology (M.A., M.S., or M.A.T.).
• One year of clinical experience preferred; candidates completing their Clinical Fellowship (CF) are encouraged to apply.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current or in-progress state licensure.
• Current or pursuing the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Work Schedule: Full-time, day shift in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
