ASCP CT/X-Ray Technologist

Job Summary: This role involves performing a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Ray, while ensuring patient safety protocols are strictly followed. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, helping to meet their imaging needs with professionalism and care.
Essential Functions:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing radiation therapy, minimizing risks such as electric shock, burns, and unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
• Handle imaging equipment safely, conduct pre-procedure checks, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Prepare and instruct patients for radiation therapy procedures, determining optimal anatomical positioning and shielding.
• Verify prescribed ionizing radiation dosages for accuracy before treatments.
• Maintain strict medical and surgical asepsis at all times.

Education:

• Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

• State licensure permitting diagnostic CT exams.
• Registration and certification in radiography by ARRT.
• Certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Experience:

• At least one year of radiologic or imaging experience.
• CT registry certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• High proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy.
• Experience with major CT/X-Ray equipment manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, and Toshiba.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred but not required.
• Specific experience and training in CT imaging is advantageous.

Professional Requirements:

• Maintain all regulatory requirements and certifications.
• Demonstrate punctuality and complete work within designated timelines.
• Exhibit strong communication skills with patients, guests, and staff, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanor.
