You will play an important role in implementing impactful email, SMS, and direct response campaigns that resonate with a broad spectrum of grassroots activists and supporters.
This position reports to a Managing Strategist at the firm.Impactful, creative, and clear written content — drafted with its audience in mind at all times — is the foundation of our digital campaigns and is mission-critical for every team member at Ascend.This is a hybrid position based in Ascend's Washington, D.C. office. Candidates must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the D.C.
Metro area.Responsibilities:Load, format, and send advocacy emails and text messages using CRMsCraft compelling copy for email, SMS, ActBlue, and landing pages that engages donors and grassroots activistsManage and update campaign content calendarsAssist in the creation of client performance reports, including both back-end spreadsheet management and client-facing memosParticipate actively in internal strategy meetings and brainstorms, as well as meetings with clientsQualifications:Exceptional writing skills across a wide variety of platforms, messages, voices, and situationsStrong organizational skills and the ability to multitaskFlexibility and adaptability — including the ability to innovate and problem-solve when you hit a roadblock and maintain a positive attitude throughoutGenuine passion and enthusiasm about raising money for Democrats and helping them win electionsPluses:Experience working with email or direct marketing programs for electoral campaigns, advocacy organizations, or non-profit entities (as an intern or otherwise)Specific experience with Democratic digital fundraisingFacility with data management, experience with spreadsheets, and general savviness with learning new technologiesFamiliarity with online organizing platforms, HTML/CSS, and/or CRMs (e.g., NGP, EveryAction, Action Kit, Switchboard)Compensation:The starting salary for the Digital Coordinator position ranges from $54,000 - $58,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.Benefits:A health insurance stipend covering 100% of the cost of a gold-level insurance plan plus 100% dentalA 401(k) plan with employer matching after six months' employmentAn open leave policyOpportunities for bonuses based on performance and business development12 weeks paid parental leaveA desktop or laptop computerHow to Apply:Please email your resume, two writing samples, and a brief description of why you're interested in the position to Please include "(YOUR NAME) - Digital Coordinator" in the subject line.
