ASC IT Systems EngineerThe ASC Systems Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on IT support, technical coordination, and network connectivity services for Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). This role serves as the primary ITS representative for the ASCs, supporting day-to-day technology needs, ensuring reliable connectivity for clinical and surgical systems, and coordinating with internal ITS teams, vendors, biomedical teams, and ASC leadership.This position requires a technically capable, service-oriented professional who understands the unique operational needs of a surgery center.

The role combines field service, endpoint support, network troubleshooting, surgical equipment connectivity, vendor coordination, and clinical workflow awareness.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary ITS point of contact for assigned Ambulatory Surgery CentersProvide on-site and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, phones, badge readers, AV equipment, and other end-user technologiesTroubleshoot hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity issues in a timely and professional mannerSupport clinical and administrative systems used within the ASC environmentEnsure technology issues are documented, escalated, and resolved according to ITS standardsAssist with connecting surgical, imaging, anesthesia, monitoring, and other clinical equipment to the networkCoordinate with vendors, biomedical engineering, network teams, and security teams to ensure equipment communicates properly and securelySupport device configuration, IP addressing, VLAN assignment, connectivity testing, and basic network validationTroubleshoot communication issues between surgical equipment, clinical systems, servers, and network infrastructureMaintain awareness of clinical workflows and minimize disruption to patient care and surgical operationsPerform field-level troubleshooting of network connectivity, wireless coverage, switches, cabling, ports, and related infrastructureAssist with installation, replacement, and validation of network-connected devicesPartner with network engineering teams to support ASC buildouts, upgrades, moves, expansions, and equipment changesValidate that systems and devices are properly connected, labeled, documented, and functioning as expectedSupport basic telecom, paging, and communication systems within ASC locationsParticipate in ASC technology projects, including new site openings, renovations, system upgrades, and equipment implementationsCoordinate with third-party vendors for installs, service calls, testing, and troubleshootingEnsure vendor-installed systems meet organizational IT standards for connectivity, security, documentation, and supportabilityProvide technical input during planning discussions for ASC technology needsCommunicate project status, risks, and support needs to ITS leadership and ASC stakeholdersMaintain accurate documentation of ASC technology assets, network connections, device configurations, support procedures, and site-specific details.Follow ITS standards for change management, cybersecurity, ticketing, asset management, and incident response.Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to increase reliability and support efficiency.Support compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, AAAHC, information security, and organizational technology policies.Maintain a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assignedRequirementsEducationDegree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field preferredCertifications/LicensureCertifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar are preferredExperience3 or more years of hands-on IT support, field service, desktop support, network support, or clinical technology support experienceTechnical SkillsExperience troubleshooting Windows workstations, printers, peripherals, mobile devices, and network connectivityWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, cabling, and basic switch port troubleshootingExperience supporting Ambulatory Surgery Centers, hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare environmentsExperience connecting or supporting surgical, imaging, anesthesia, monitoring, or other clinical equipmentFamiliarity with biomedical equipment workflows and vendor coordinationExperience with ITSM or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Zendesk, or similar platformsFamiliarity with Google Workspace, Active Directory, endpoint management tools, and remote support platformsSoft SkillsAbility to work directly with clinical staff, vendors, and technical teams in a fast-paced healthcare environmentStrong customer service, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to travel to IBJI ASC locations as neededPhysical RequirementsAbility to work on-site in ASC environments including donning surgical PPE (including full sterile suit aka "bunny suit")Ability to lift, move, or install IT equipment as neededAbility to access network closets, workstations, clinical areas, and equipment roomsMay require occasional after-hours or weekend work for planned maintenance, upgrades, go-lives, or urgent supportStand or sit for extended periods of timeThis description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
