Nurse Practitioner - General Medical Examiner (C&P Exams)
Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time | In-Person
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner to perform one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
In this role, you will review medical histories, conduct physical evaluations, and complete electronic Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) using a web-based portal. There is no ongoing treatment, patient care management, or prescribing involved.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct non-treatment general medical disability assessments for Veterans in an in-person clinical setting.
• Review medical histories, service records, and prior exam documentation.
• Explain the evaluation process to the Veteran and confirm claimed conditions.
• Complete and submit DBQs and Medical Opinions (MO) via an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system within 24-48 hours of assessment completion.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing when required (e.g., lab work, spirometry, ECGs).
• Adhere to proper emergency protocols for medical or behavioral health situations.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted State Nurse Practitioner (NP) license without limitations.
• Proficiency in navigating EMR platforms, web portals, and standard computer applications.
• Strong clinical analysis, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of meeting documentation deadlines.
• Compassionate, professional bedside manner dedicated to serving Veterans.
