This role is responsible for processing medical record requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely release of protected health information (PHI).The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and experienced in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. This position requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and efficientlyRetrieve and compile medical records from EMR systemsEnsure HIPAA compliance when handling all protected health informationPull and generate reports as neededPerform administrative functions related to ROI processingMaintain organized documentation and tracking of requestsCommunicate effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and requestorsProvide coverage support when onsite staff are out (PTO/call-outs)Maintain productivity and quality standardsTraining & OnboardingDatavant DHISC training • Hands-on, role-specific training during the first 30 daysPreferred SkillsStrong communication skills • Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations • Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMust be 18 years of age or olderAbility to commute between locations as needed.Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.1-year Health Information related experienceTo ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc.
