Location: Dorset

Salary: £28,000/£35,000

Penguin is proud to be working with a specialist independent masterplanning and urban design consultancy on an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Designer / Urban Designer to join their growing team.

The practice specialises in masterplanning, urban design, architecture, strategic planning and landscape architecture, working on a diverse range of projects from high-density urban regeneration and town centre schemes through to residential developments and large-scale mixed-use communities.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and commercially minded designer to work across projects from the initial concept and feasibility stages through to planning and detailed implementation.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Develop innovative masterplans, architectural layouts and urban design proposals.
nWork on residential, mixed-use, regeneration and community-led developments.
nProduce high-quality design concepts, site layouts and presentation material.
nContribute to masterplanning and urban design strategies.
nWork collaboratively with clients, planners, architects, landscape architects and other consultants.
nDevelop design solutions that balance design quality, planning requirements and commercial viability.
nContribute to projects from early-stage visioning through to planning and implementation.About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or a related discipline.
nPrevious experience within an architectural, urban design or masterplanning practice.
nStrong design and visualisation skills with an excellent eye for detail.
nExperience producing masterplans, site layouts and architectural/design drawings.
nStrong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other relevant design software.
nAn understanding of the UK planning and development process.
nExcellent communication and presentation skills.
nA creative, proactive and collaborative approach to design.
nThe ambition to develop their career within a specialist masterplanning practice.This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, specialist team working on a broad range of exciting projects across the UK, with the chance to take genuine ownership of design work and develop your experience across architecture, urban design and masterplanning.
