Position Overview
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Store Manager to create a welcoming and hospitable work environment, foster excellent customer relationships, motivate staff, and meet sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Create a pleasant work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Centers Operations manual and all policies and procedures, including issuing warnings when necessary.
- Meet sales, production, and expense targets to ensure profitability.
- Ensure proper display of merchandise on the sales floor.
- Participate in hiring processes, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews, and recommend candidates for employment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training for staff.
- Hold monthly staff and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Schedule staff shifts, post weekly work schedules, and manage time off requests.
- Manage payroll submissions biweekly, noting absences, overtime, etc.
- Order merchandise to keep the store stocked, following the Rag Out Calendar for merchandise presentation.
- Train and supervise new and existing employees, including retraining as needed.
- Handle cash receipts, ensure proper accounting, and safeguard funds.
- Complete and forward sales reports to the finance department daily.
- Report inspections or site visits from OSHA, CPSC, or local authorities to the Administrator.
- Participate in manager meetings and communicate policies to staff.
- Protect property and report hazards, damages, or injuries.
- Oversee work therapy beneficiaries, modeling professional conduct and supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in sales preferred.
- Leadership and motivation skills.
- Ability to interpret income and expense reports.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work at any store location under the ARC.
