The Position
The City of Modesto is looking for an enthusiastic Aquatics Program Leader to help make a splash in our community programs! In this role, you'll deliver top-notch swim instruction, support daily pool operations, and bring energy to lessons, camps, fitness classes, special events, and more. This is an hourly position, limited to working approximately 29 hours per week up to 1,000 hours annually or working approximately 40 hours per week up to 6 months and no more than 1,000 hours annually. This position is non-benefited and is designated as a non-classified, at-will position.
The Aquatics Program Leader serves as a swim instructor and slide attendant and assists with the delivery and operation of aquatics programs including but not limited to swim lessons, camps, fitness classes, special events, party rentals, and assists with set up, supervision, and daily operations in accordance with established policies and training. Assist in instructing and monitoring activities for aquatics.

Enforce rules related to ride safety, height and rider spacing.
Coordinate with lifeguards to maintain consistent flow and safety.

Experience:
6 months of experience teaching swim lessons, working with children, working with recreational programs or event planning.
Training:
Required to attend, participate and complete all trainings as assigned. Including, but not limited to, Mandated Reporter training.
Licenses/Certificates:
Possession of the below certificates are required to be obtained within 30 days of appointment to be scheduled and must be maintained for continued employment.
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age at time of application.
