About The Role
As APX Localization Director, you will develop and execute a localization strategy to support APX reactor deployment in target countries and markets. You will tailor the strategy to local content capabilities, regulatory requirements, and customer needs, working closely with Westinghouse delivery, commercial teams, and EPC construction partners. You will confirm partners’ strategic fit before passing them to delivery teams for technical and deployment readiness.
You will report to the SVP – New Plant Partnerships and work remotely from any European Westinghouse location.
Key Responsibilities
- Balance localization requirements with commercial efficiency.
- Manage localization implementation strategies and support APX Delivery organizations in validating partner capability to deliver on scope, schedule, and quality.
- Build repeatable frameworks for contracting, governance, and partner management.
- Strengthen Westinghouse’s positioning with governments and key local partners.
- Engage with internal executive leadership, partners’ executive management, and external partners such as government and industry trade leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering.
- Located in Europe.
- 5+ years of experience on large construction projects, including commercial and project development leadership roles.
- Experience in the nuclear industry in Europe and Canada, with a customer‑oriented and market‑assessment focus.
- Specific knowledge of AP1000 design.
- Experience in manufacturing and major project construction.
- Customer‑ and result‑oriented mindset.
- Major construction project (EPC) experience and partnership development.
- Basic understanding of AP1000 procurement and engineering processes.
- Prior executive engagement experience.
- Preparation of comprehensive business plans for complex offerings.
- Technical, economic, and risk assessment of complex suppliers and partner companies.
- Facilitation of meetings and brainstorming events.
