We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician at our York Nebraska production location. In this position, you will utilize your electrical skills to perform high-level electrical and mechanical installation as well as maintenance of facilities, field and plant equipment. This critical work directly affects safety, function, longevity and overall operation of electrical and mechanical equipment at the plant.

This role will be 100% on-site at the location.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, industrial machinery, and production equipment
Assist in performing electrical and mechanical maintenance functions necessary to maintain all service equipment (palletizers, conveyors, bagging equipment, bucket elevators, augers, HVAC, etc.)
Learn, troubleshoot and maintain Process Control Systems such as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Motor Controls, etc.
Accurately complete reports, logs, and maintain records on equipment
Diagnose malfunctions of defective equipment by performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions
Gain knowledge in the development, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical equipment
Expand upon your ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
Adherence to all quality systems and safety procedures including environmental regulations OSHA and PSM
Make recommendations for improved safety
Various other duties as assigned
Location Specific Items:
Ability to work 12 hour shifts
Ability to work nights or day shift including weekends
Ability to work overtime when required
Ability to follow safety rules and regulations
Wear proper PPE required for all tasks
Education:
You have a High School Diploma/GED.
What Skills You Need:
Basic understanding of electrical systems from education or hands on experience
You have working knowledge of electrical theory and diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using AC and DC voltages ranging from 24V to 480V 3 Phase Motors and Controls
You can accurately use Industrial Electronic Testing Equipment such as: Megger, Multimeter, Amp Meter, and other testing equipment as required
You have a valid US driver’s license
You possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required
You are willing and able to perform the physical aspects of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
You can work independently as well as in a team environment
You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
You have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent critical thinking skills

You are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand.
Physical Job Requirements:
Stand and sit for extended periods
Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
Lift up to 60 lbs.
Perform work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties

What Makes You Stand Out:
Two-Year Technical or associate’s degree in industrial Electronics, Industrial Technology, Automation, or related field
Military experience in Electricity, Electronics, Power Distribution, or related field
Previous experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Servo Drives and PLC Systems
Direct experience and knowledge of Industrial Maintenance, Automated Systems, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics
