Apprentice Construction Craft Laborer
George Nice & Sons is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Construction Craft Laborers. This entry-level position is part of our Apprenticeship Program and is designed for individuals who want to build a career in the construction industry. Apprentices will receive hands-on training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to develop skills across multiple trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general construction tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and job site cleanup
- Work alongside skilled tradespeople to learn carpentry, concrete work, utilities, and other construction skills
- Safely use hand and power tools under supervision
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Participate in structured apprenticeship training (on-the-job and/or classroom instruction)
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Perform physical labor such as lifting, digging, carrying, and moving materials
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the company
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- No prior construction experience required
- Strong interest in construction or skilled trades
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
