Job RoleApplications Engineers help Arm's partners working on cutting-edge technology to build the best possible SoC design integrating Arm CPUs and System IP. Applications Engineering is a dynamic, deeply technical role. You will provide technical mentorship on IP integration, configuration, and performance to Arm's collaborators.
This involves investigating issues, identifying solutions through RTL simulations, and clearly communicating your findings.Working with customers means that you will need to understand what they want to achieve, analyse their various requests, issues and provide a solution that moves them forward. Every day you'll be faced with a different set of technical challenges on a variety of different products.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide fast and accurate answers to partner questions about Arm CPU & System IPDevelop and deliver technical training courses on CPU & System IP, both onsite and remotelyPerform customer SoC build reviews using ARM IP and provide functionality and optimisation recommendations, working onsite as well as from remote locationsWork with Arm IP design and product management teams to improve partners experience and influence IP feature developmentTest IP work and provide feedback to the establish team prior to release to customersCreate and modify web-based knowledge base articles and application notesDevelop tools and techniques to aid Application Engineers solve problems more efficientlyKey Technical Skills & ExpertiseBSc Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering (ECE) or equivalentExcellent understanding of HDLs such as Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDLVery good knowledge of CPU architecture principles and SoC design principlesAbility to use RTL simulation tools for debugging purposesAny tools like: Visual Studio code, Vim/text editor flow, waveform viewers like Questasim, Verdi, Cadence Simvision, XceliumAbility to work with remote teams"Nice to Have" Skills & ExpertiseKnowledge of one or more AMBA bus protocolsKnowledge of the Arm ArchitectureKnowledge of System Coherency conceptsKnowledge of PCIe, CXL, and/or UCIe specificationsWe will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
