Job TitleThe principal duties will include, but not be limited to:Develop technical concepts based on customer requirements provided by Sales DepartmentsEvaluate technical feasibility in collaboration with specialist departments (e.g., automation, manufacturing, R&D)Prepare system layouts, configuration concepts, and preliminary engineering drawingsAnalyze customer specifications and requirement documents (provided by Sales)Provide technical input for cost calculation and validate material & engineering effort assumptionsPrepare technical documentation for quotations (technical descriptions, assumptions, scope boundaries)Identify technical risks, constraints and optimization opportunitiesCoordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure concept alignment & smooth transition into quote to cash process – stays contact person throughout the projectProvide internal technical clarifications during commercial negotiation phaseTravel required, including overnight travel – potentially domestic and internationalEducation: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience: 5+ years of experience in applications or mechanical engineering with three years of experience in estimating, project management, or sales administration in a technical industryAdditional skills:Ability to create technically feasible, economical equipment concepts from customer specifications consisting of varying levels of detailAbility to identify and account for potential risks (technical, budget, schedule, etc.) that may be encountered during the execution of quoted projectsAbility to obtain and process information from internal and external resources in order to accurately estimate the labor and material costs required to execute projects being quotedA comprehensive knowledge and understanding of our customers' products and manufacturing processesAn understanding of the capabilities and benefits of the equipment being quoted—and the ability to effectively communicate those benefits to customersStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple customer opportunities simultaneously in an environment where priorities are constantly changingExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiencesA strong customer service mindset, considering customer needs and concerns in decision-makingA disciplined, goal-oriented personality with the creativity to provide and work with new ideas and approaches to design and processesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and 2D/3D design softwareFlexibility to travel, domestic and international, and work additional hours as needed to meet project requirementsA commitment to integrity, ethical and economical practices, and the organization's values and missionPhysical and Environmental RequirementsAs a member of HAHN Automation Group, applicants must be able to interact safely in a manufacturing environment.
