Our public sector client is seeking a dedicated Application Tester to support a high-priority, large-scale integrated information-sharing system. The QA professional will be instrumental in ensuring system reliability, providing institutional knowledge of its design, and maintaining compliance with strict security policies.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and requirements validation for complex integrated systems.
• Create test use cases, execute manual and automated testing, and generate detailed test result reports for management.
• Implement testing strategies required by project managers and provide documented processes to the testing team.
• Support defect resolution, log defects into the defect management tool, and provide testing process consultation to the project team.
• Validate Traceability Matrices against contractual requirements.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Automation framework development, including architecture and expansion.
• Maintain the automation test suite and seamlessly integrate it into DevOps pipelines.
• Develop and deliver presentations on test results for stakeholders and officials.
• Test new releases and collaborate effectively with developers, designers, team leaders, and other testers.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, with exposure to 3rd generation programming languages and software design patterns.
• 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience as a tester for enterprise IT projects.
• Strong proficiency in core programming languages, specifically C# or Java.
• Proven experience in data-driven automation testing and handling full-lifecycle automation frameworks.
• Experience with NIEM XML or other complex XML standards.
• Hands-on experience testing web services manually using SoapUI or Postman.
• Solid understanding of SOA technologies and experience scripting complex SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Sound knowledge of automation reporting tools (e.g., Extent Reports) and version control (GitHub).
• Ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and trace problems to their source.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and excellent collaborative skills.
• Note: Working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is considered a strong plus.
