Job Description:

The Application Specialist will play a key role in managing and supporting a variety of technology systems critical to Farmingdale State College's (FSC) operations. This position involves working collaboratively with departments to manage implementing electronic forms, Campus Visual Bulletin Board (VBB) system, and employee training.

The Application Specialist will also provide technical support for these platforms, utilize Business Intelligence (BI) systems for data extraction and reporting, and offer basic virtual meeting support. The Specialist should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, fulfilling the following core responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of electronic forms and workflows by collaborating with campus departments to meet specific requirements, optimizing workflow efficiency, and providing technical support to resolve issues.
  • Oversee the Campus Visual Bulletin Board (VBB) system by managing content submissions and updates, collaborating with departments for clear and accessible content, and maintaining hardware functionality through regular system audits.
  • Oversee and deploy training campaigns, collaborating with departments to tailor materials and timelines to their needs, ensuring proper rollout and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Extract and transform data from the workflow system, collaborating with campus departments to identify key metrics and create customized dashboards and reports for their analysis and reporting needs.
  • Train and support faculty and staff in appointments/scheduling system(s), ensuring user proficiency and resolving scheduling conflicts, technical glitches, and system errors through Helpdesk assistance.
  • Offer basic support with virtual meeting setup for campus conferences, collaborating with departments and networking teams as needed.
  • Manage initiatives with limited supervision.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in managing technology systems, including content management platforms, form design, or data analysis tools.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement workflows or manage training programs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in data extraction, management, and reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple initiatives independently and with limited supervision.
  • Outstanding Organizational Skills to lead day to day operational activities.
  • Uncompromising Ethics and Confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with SoftDocs, Etrieve and Microsoft Forms.
  • Experience with KnowBe4.
  • Experience with Carousel Tightrope.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Graduate of Farmingdale State College.

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, February 14, 2025 , and ending Friday, February 28, 2025 , applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
