Application EngineerThe Application Engineer I researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment to internal and external customers. The Application Engineer is responsible for product training and advanced technical support.Key AccountabilitiesEvaluates the usage and application of Zurn products in the design of customer systems, including fire protection, plumbing, and irrigation systems in multiple marketsProvides technical product, design, and troubleshooting assistance to internal and external customersTrains others on fluids engineering concepts, plumbing codes, fire codes, industry performance standards, and product installation techniquesDetermines functional condition for returned goods through performance inspections and assists Quality Assurance with documenting inspection reportsLiaises with the sales team as a technical expert, through layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, research memos, compliance reportsCreates presentations and product comparisons for sales assistance and trainingPresents live, virtual, or pre-recorded product knowledge training to internal employees, customers, sales reps, distributors, and contractors. Represents Zurn in the field during installation, troubleshooting, or other post-sales support including witness testing at a site or lab for insurance claimsDrives continuous improvement activities within the group through ownership of the process planExpedites customer resolutions by coordinating actions and feedback from customer care, quality, and engineering.
