Provide technical guidance to support schedule and product cost to ensure overall success on projects. Utilize appropriate tools and resources to perform necessary design tasks including design conception, analysis, testing, and verification. Some key activities include designing motors both electrically and mechanically, sampling motors to customers, obtaining engineering approvals, setting up motors into production, and providing support to customers and plants for motors that are in production.DutiesCreating product specificationsPrepare proposals, quotations per customer and marketing requestProvide technical support for internal and on-site customersSupport sales and marketing with product selectionDevelop and maintain relationships with different customersWork with engineers from various departments to resolve problems that arise during and after implementationProvide ideas and participate in cost reduction projectsSupport the software group testing and troubleshooting new software versionsSupport the development group on new platformsSupport quality departmentAble to read electrical diagramsPerform testing per internal and/or external standards and create test result reportReview and summarize test dataCoordinate team meetings and conference calls with customer engineers, manufacturing, sales, and quality personnelCreate project-related schedules, resource plans, and test plansUse lab tools and measuring equipment to test fractional horsepower motorsGraph technical and performance data and interpret resultsCreate and maintain production bill of materials and drawings for motor productsSupport remote manufacturing plants. Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues with motor designs and manufacturing processes.Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills RequiredB.S in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field0-2 years of work experience, preferably in electric motor industry.
