Application EngineerThe Application Engineer role is responsible for providing technical and operational support of a vendor product, Dayzer (Day-Ahead Locational Market Clearing Prices Analyzer), and in-house developed components that interact with the product. This role will also work directly with Quant Traders and analysts to develop new and enhance existing technical components to support Power trading decisions in Gas & Power Trading Americas (GPTA).Key accountabilitiesManage the AWS infrastructure hosting this vendor software (Monitoring alerts, Windows patching, digital security requirements, instance sizing, etc.)Support the Power commercial team in access management, license management, connectivity job failure issuesUpdate and test vendor releasesEnhance existing in-house built components associated with the vendor productDesign, develop, and deploy new solutions based on users’ requirementsPeriodically test Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilitiesEssential experience and requirements3+ years of hands-on development experience in Python, C#, or Java3+ years of database development experience with one or more RDBMS technologies (Postgres, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)Knowledge and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), monitoring tools (Splunk, CloudWatch), DevOps technologies (ADO, Ansible, Jenkins, GIT), and IT Service Management tools (ServiceNow)Knowledge and experience with the use of Azure DevOps and the Agile methodologyKnowledge and experience with Enterprise job scheduler (preferably Stoneranch)Able to complete tasks quickly and thoroughly, is resolute and highly dependableSelf-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast paced, high growth environment.
