Application Engineer-AutomotiveGreenville, South Carolina, USAPay Rate - General ScopeThe Port Fuel Injection (PFI) Applications Engineer is responsible for application-level engineering support of fuel injection products, ensuring proper performance, validation, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as a technical interface between engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions, with strong emphasis on problem solving, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.Responsibilities and DutiesDesign, develop, and refine remanufacturing processes for Hydraulically Actuated Unit Diesel injectors and Common Rail Diesel injectors.Provide application engineering support for Port Fuel Injection products and assigned programsInvestigate product performance issues, including test failures, flow audits, and field incidentsLead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for engineering issuesAuthor and maintain formal technical documentation such as incident reports, audit summaries, and engineering updatesParticipate in recurring engineering meetings (EPO, Gemba, program reviews) and communicate status to stakeholdersSupport manufacturing and supply chain with technical input to maintain shipment readiness and product qualityInterface with internal labs, quality, and external suppliers as needed to resolve technical issuesSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance and application robustnessWorking ConditionsOffice-based engineering environmentRegular interaction with engineering, quality, manufacturing, lab, and IT resourcesOccasional support outside standard hours during critical issues or product launchesQualificationsGeneral ScopeThe Port Fuel Injection (PFI) Applications Engineer is responsible for application-level engineering support of fuel injection products, ensuring proper performance, validation, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.
