Application ArchitectWork location: San Antonio, TXMust have skills: Java / J2EE Architect or Cloud Architect with AWS / Google / OracleResponsibilities:Act as the primary technical point of contact for onboarding new vendors.Guide vendors through USAA's architectural processes, standards, and governance requirements.Partner with Technical Architects to review vendor solution designs, integration patterns, and technical capabilities.Document design assessments, onboarding guidance, technical risks, and decisions.Support architectural reviews, checkpoints, and compliance activities related to vendor onboarding.Communicate expectations with clarity and professionalism to both technical and non-technical audiences.Experience:Overall 12+ experience in IT software development3+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, technical analysis, or solution design.Foundational understanding of architecture principles, including APIs, integration patterns, cloud basics, and security controls.Experience partnering with technical architects, third party vendors, system integrators, or managed service providers.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.Ability to manage multiple onboarding efforts in a structured, process-driven environment.
