Application ArchitectHuntington Bank is seeking an Enterprise Payments Solution Architect focused on the Wires product to define and govern end to end technology solutions that support strategic business initiatives. This role is responsible for translating business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable solution designs aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices.The Solution Architect partners closely with business leaders, product teams, engineering, infrastructure, and other architects to ensure solutions support long term business objectives, operational stability, and technology modernization. This role operates at the initiative or program level and provides architectural leadership across multiple applications and platforms.Key responsibilities include:Solution Architecture & DesignDefine solution approaches and high level architecture designs aligned to enterprise standards and target state strategiesTranslate business requirements into end to end technical solutions across applications, platforms, integrations, and data flowsEnsure solutions meet non-functional requirements including scalability, resiliency, performance, security, and maintainabilityArchitecture GovernancePresent and defend solution designs through architecture review and approval forumsEnsure adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards, patterns, and governance processesIdentify architectural risks, constraints, and technical debt, recommending paths to remediationDelivery PartnershipPartner with product owners, engineering teams, infrastructure, vendors, and SMEs to guide architecture decisions throughout deliveryReview detailed designs to ensure alignment with approved solution architectureSupport delivery teams by resolving cross domain and cross platform design challengesRoadmaps & Continuous ImprovementContribute to and maintain solution and domain roadmaps, supporting evolution from current to future stateEvaluate emerging technologies and patterns for applicability to enterprise solutionsPromote reuse of standards, patterns, and best practices across initiativesBasic qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience across multiple IT disciplines, including experience in at least two of the following:Solution or application architectureApplication developmentMiddleware or integration technologiesDatabase management or operationsInfrastructure or platform technologiesExperience working in complex enterprise environmentsPreferred qualifications include:Experience supporting financial services or regulated environmentsFamiliarity with enterprise integration patterns (APIs, event driven, batch, messaging)Working knowledge with Wires applicationExperience collaborating across business, product, and engineering teamsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and non technical audiencesKey skills and competencies include:Strong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to influence without authority across teams and domainsEffective communication and stakeholder managementAbility to balance strategic thinking with delivery pragmatismCommitment to architecture standards, quality, and long term sustainability
