Our Austin office is seeking an experienced Attorney specializing in Complex Litigation and Appeals to represent clients throughout the State of Texas.

** Key Responsibilities: **

  • Serve as first chair counsel at trial and on appeal in both Texas state and federal courts.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and consultation to attorneys within the firm and clients statewide regarding litigation and appellate strategy, discovery, pleadings, legal arguments, and evidentiary matters.
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to protect clients’ interests and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Advise the firm and clients on risk management and litigation avoidance, including best practices, policies, and procedures designed to minimize potential third-party claims and legal exposure.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide practical recommendations regarding potential and ongoing litigation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategies for complex disputes and appeals.

** Ideal Candidate: **

  • Strong experience handling complex litigation and appellate matters.
  • Proven ability to serve as first chair in significant state and federal court matters.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of Texas state and federal court procedures and rules of evidence.
  • Ability to independently manage complex cases while effectively advising clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and strategic problem-solving abilities.

** Requirements: **

  • JD from an ABA approved school
  • Civil appellate experience
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in Texas
  • Must be eligible to be admitted to all federal courts in Texas
  • Texas delinquent tax background preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to engage with clients and local associations beneficial to client interests
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Spanish-speaking a plus
