Title: Associate Designer Apparel

Location: NYC, NY 10001

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Rate: $28/hr.

Position Overview

Client is seeking an Associate Designer to support seasonal apparel design, licensed products, collaborations, and third-party vendor programs. The ideal candidate will assist with design development, technical execution, sample management, and vendor coordination while ensuring alignment with brand standards and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with design teams, third-party vendors, and licensing partners.
• Track sample submissions, lab dips, fit comments, and design approvals.
• Create and update technical sketches, flats, and tech packs using Adobe Illustrator.
• Support fabric, trim, color selection, trend research, and seasonal concepts.
• Maintain design libraries, product records, PLM systems, and development calendars.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Technical Design, Production, and Sourcing teams.
• Assist with line reviews, presentations, and product development timelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of apparel design or product development experience, including internships.
• Experience with licensed products, collaborations, or third-party vendors preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PLM experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fit, and tech packs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Basic experience with AI design tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Vizcom.
• Portfolio required.

Note: Ability to handle garment samples and attend fittings and design reviews is required.
