API Automation Test RoleBasic expectations: This is an API automation test role, zero to little front-end testing is needed. A candidate should be 100% comfortable testing and automating at an API level.Responsible for designing and developing automated API test scripts to support application testing.Building API tests in a tool similar to Parasoft – full knowledge and understanding of developing and designing API testsThe automation developer performs analysis of manual test cases and functional requirements and determines the balance of test coverage to be automated for reuse.This person gathers information from the project team, designs, develops, unit tests, debugs, executes automated test cases and prepares reports.The automation developer will document results and facilitate review meetings with project team stakeholders. The automation developer actively looks for solutions to automate test cases early in the test life cycle and works on projects of high complexity within one or more test/development environments.This person works on multiple programs/systems/applications as a project team member.The automation developer is considered a subject matter expert in the area of test case automation.
Minimum 2-5 years for an Automation developer II and minimum 5+ years for an Automation Developer III.Additional expectations for our software development engineer in test (SDET) role:API testing experience (5 years)Working knowledge of an IDECI/CD knowledge and hands on development experienceDemonstrated coding experience 2 years (Java, Python, etc)Working knowledge with git (or another code repository tool)Use of a Rest Assured test frameworkPerformance testing experience and knowledge (not just executing previous developed perf tests also creating and designing tests)Required Skills: API testing experience, proficiency in Java or Python, experience building out an automation framework (with any framework)Basic Qualification: Additional Skills: Background Check: Yes Drug Screen: Yes Notes: Remote for 3-4 months, then need to relocate to ANY Charter market (Austin, TX / St. Louis, MO / Charlotte, NC, / Stamford, CT / Denver, CO).
