Overview
A premier international law firm with a globally recognized Antitrust & Competition practice is seeking a talented Associate Attorney for its Washington, DC office. This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside leading antitrust practitioners on significant merger reviews, government investigations, antitrust litigation, and compliance counseling matters, advising sophisticated multinational clients at the intersection of business, government, and regulation.
What you'll do
- Represent clients in antitrust litigation matters in federal and state courts
- Assist with merger clearance reviews and related regulatory filings
- Advise clients during investigations conducted by the FTC, DOJ, and state attorneys general
- Conduct legal research and analysis involving complex competition law issues
- Draft motions, briefs, agency submissions, white papers, and client memoranda
- Support internal and government investigations involving antitrust concerns
- Counsel clients on antitrust compliance and risk management strategies
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to support transactional and litigation matters
- Monitor developments in antitrust enforcement and competition policy
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing
- 3-4 years of post-JD experience (excluding judicial clerkships) in antitrust and competition law
- Experience handling antitrust litigation matters, merger review matters, and regulatory investigations
- Knowledge of merger clearance processes, cartel investigations, and government enforcement actions
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional writing, advocacy, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience representing clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and state attorneys general preferred
- Experience working directly with clients and government agencies preferred
