Expected Term : on or about January 5, 2027 to April 1, 2027
Reports To: Elementary School Principal and other appropriate administrators
Job Summary: The Reading Specialist shall serve as the instructional leader, and has a critical role in the implementation of a comprehensive literacy program. This should be done through collaboration and consultation with teachers around best practices in literacy instruction, integration and use of assessment data to drive literacy instruction, development of instructional plans in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3, and through providing remedial instruction in reading for students. Additionally, this leader provides embedded professional development for classroom teachers in planning, delivering, and improving literacy instruction; oversees literacy activities, projects and programs in the school.

Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise in student behavior management and collaborative problem solving
- Ability to provide leadership to staff in areas of specialization
- Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, in a variety of settings
- Ability to follow valid IEP's and to follow IDEA and 504 procedures
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff or district patrons
- Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education and special education law and appropriate instructions subjects
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Instructions I Pennsylvania Certification
- Valid Clearances
