Ansible Automation Platform Engineer
Location: Roseland, NJ / Alpharetta, GA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in office
Contract Length: 1-year (possible extension)
Must Haves:
- 6-8 years with Ansible Automation Platform
- 4-5 years experience with OpenShift
- 4-5 years experience with Linux
- 0-3 years experience with Infrastructure as Code
- 0-3 years experience with AWS (plus)
- 0-3 years experience with Terraform (plus)
About the Role
We are seeking an Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) engineer/architect to design, implement, and optimize automation solutions across a modern, containerized infrastructure. This role emphasizes platform engineering, architecture, and operational excellence rather than development alone.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and manage Ansible Automation Platform clusters in a containerized ecosystem.
- Define and implement automation strategies, governance and standards across infrastructure and operations teams.
- Integrate AAP with enterprise systems for authentication, inventory and CI/CD workflows.
- Build and manage scalable, reliable and secure automation architectures.
- Collaborate with DevOps, platform, and cloud teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize platform performance, automation workflows, and underlying infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for automation adoption.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience with Ansible Automation Platform (Tower/AWX) engineering or architecture.
- Strong understanding of container orchestration.
- Hands‑on experience with Linux systems administration and automation at scale.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and configuration management concepts.
- Experience with scripting languages for automation support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing or managing AAP in AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of GitOps, Terraform, or CloudFormation for automation.
- Exposure to enterprise‑scale operations and multi‑team collaboration.
- Red Hat certifications are a plus.
