NexAnnuity is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual to join the Retirement Solutions team as a Compliance Manager in our Annuity Operations group. This role supports both compliance and operational initiatives, ensuring regulatory adherence, refining internal policies and procedures, and promoting operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting insurance operations and ensure company policies and procedures reflect current standards.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to verify compliance with industry regulations.
  • Identify and resolve compliance vulnerabilities and provide guidance to the team on insurance compliance-related matters.
  • Conduct review of complaints, prepare and file responses, maintain complaint logs.
  • Conduct compliance review for large annuity cases, perform suitability and enhanced underwriting review; review policy contract exception requests, file company responses and maintain review logs.
  • Review product forms, administration forms, company guides, and manage updates to training materials in response to regulatory changes and carrier updates.
  • Review agent contracting and licensing, agent appointments, renewals and terminations, improve and maintain agent contracting/appointment reporting.
  • Assist in preparing various reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in the improvement of compliance procedures and operational enhancements.
  • Collaborate with operations team to identify and implement process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in insurance compliance, operations, or a related insurance industry role.
  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies and insurance industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and compliance management tools.
  • Professional certifications such as AIRC, CCP, or similar are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and high ethical standards.
  • Experience with Third‑Party Administrator (TPA) operations.
  • Experience with annuities compliance and operations.
  • Familiarity with NAIC regulations and state insurance departments.
  • Familiarity with state licensing for carrier, agency, and agents, including SBS, NIPR, and Sircon.
