Job TitleAnimal Shelter Enforcement OfficerJob DescriptionThe purpose of this classification is to establish an employment list to fill vacancies in the Animal Shelter Department, and future vacancies, as they may occur to perform responsible work in the enforcement of animal control ordinances that cover various animals, including those that may be diseased, unlicensed, dangerous, and stray.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of experience in capturing, handling, and caring for animals and work involving a moderate degree of interaction with the public; or any combination of education and experience which provides the skills and abilities requisite for this position. Must possess a valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.Work ScheduleM-F, 7AM-3:30 PM, Monday – Friday; May work some weekendsKind of ExaminationThis examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, a performance test or any combination thereof deemed necessary to adequately screen and rank applicants.
