Animal Client Services CoordinatorWe are pleased to offer the current job opportunity for an Animal Client Services Coordinator position in the Animal Services Department. DuPage County Animal Services is an immediate open admission shelter caring for approximately more than 2,000 animals of varying species annually. The Animal Client Services Coordinator role provides administrative support to the shelter.

This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours and Vacation time at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Responsibilities include:Provides exceptional customer service at all timesRemains knowledgeable of animals in the facility to make the best possible match/recommendation to potential adoptersReceives incoming and outgoing animals, completes all required related tasks per departmental policy, and effectively communicates in emotional situationsReviews client paperwork, interviews clients to educate and/or clarify information, and renders decisions based on department policyAnswers general questions from the public via phone, email or in-personCoordinates information and services aimed at preventing animal relinquishment and returning animals to their ownersMaintains shelter database, ensures high-quality data entry and record keepingProcesses transactions, issues licenses and provides servicesCreates and compiles materials for informational packets/educational handoutsSchedules appointments and refers clients to proper partiesReceives, tabulates, and accounts for fees and other moneys received by the divisionFiles documents accurately by various prescribed methodsDevelops reports from a variety of databases to comply with reporting requirements from various agencies or partnersScreens, sorts and stores in-kind donations and mailHandles and interacts with varying species of animalsSchedules appointments for animal intake, adoptions, and clinic visitsRequirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:Completion of a High School Diploma or general Equivalency Diploma equivalentOne (1) year of animal science or related course workExperience as an adoption or intake counselor for a shelter or rescue organization, or similar environmentCredit to meet these qualifications will be granted to former interns of DCAS.
