Anesthesiologists for the VA in Columbia, MO

We re hiring two (1) Anesthesiologists for the VA in Columbia, MO $430/hr. any state license board certified or eligible

• Although not required, the facility prefers physicians with expertise, training, and/or familiarity with anesthesia administration for complex cardiac interventions/surgeries (i.e., CABG, TAVR, etc).

LOCATION : Harry S Truman VAMC, 800 Hospital Dr, Columbia, MO 65201

START DATE and DURATION:

• As soon as available and credentialed:2-4 weeks for credentialing/security (with leeway for notification to current employer, if applicable)
• Currently a 1+-year contract, with extensions. Contract terminates 12/27
• (Note: the duration is a contract between us and the Government. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you just give us 60-day notice ).

COMPENSATION (Rates are listed as 1099, all inclusive):

• M-F regular hours and Call Back: $430/hr.
• On-Call (from home): $50/hr.
• We cover Med Mal

SCHEDULE :

• Typical OR daily schedule is 7:00 am 4:30 pm (Anesthesiologists scheduled 40hrs/week)
• On-call averages 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month
• An anesthesiologist and CRNA are on-call simultaneously
• Call from home: Be available within 15 min. by phone and on-site within 60 min.
• Call-back is rare, approx. 1/week for the entire department

MAKEUP of the DEPARTMENT:

• When fully staffed, there will be 5 Anesthesiologists and 13 CRNAs (there are no residents)
• Support: Two Anesthesia Techs
• Number of ORs: 7

CASES:

• Case load: Approximately 12 surgical cases/day in the department
• Typical cases are General, Ortho, Eyes, Cardiac (
• Anesthesiologists will not cover Pain or ICU

MODEL:

• Supervise CRNAs (may have to deliver solo anesthesia should CRNA staffing dip)
