Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Anesthesiology is searching for a General Anesthesiologist (open rank) committed to patient care and resident education. The physician will provide anesthetic care at UNC hospitals, community hospitals, and ambulatory surgical centers, and will have opportunities for scholarly contribution and development.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent).
- Completion of an ACGME‑accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program by the anticipated start date.
- ABA certified or eligible and eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience working in an academic setting and teaching graduate‑level learners (interns, residents, fellows).
- Experience collaborating with a team that includes CAAs/CRNAs and other services.
- Experience in general, regional, uncomplicated pediatrics and obstetric anesthesiology is an asset.
