Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Anesthesiologist, you will join CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, Nebraska, where you'll become part of a collaborative, patient-centered anesthesia team committed to delivering exceptional perioperative care. This opportunity offers the best of both academic and clinical practice, allowing you to work alongside experienced physician colleagues while supervising CRNAs in a collaborative care team model. Physicians with an interest in education will have the opportunity to teach medical students, surgery residents, and, as our programs continue to grow, anesthesiology residents and SRNAs. Academic appointments through Creighton University School of Medicine are available for those interested in advancing medical education and scholarly activities. You’ll provide care primarily at CHI Health Immanuel and CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs while practicing in an environment that values teamwork, innovation, and clinical excellence. Every day you will provide comprehensive anesthetic care across a diverse range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, thoracic, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, ENT, trauma, emergency surgery, neurosurgery, and endoscopy. Working in a collaborative care team model, you’ll direct and partner with CRNAs to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based anesthesia care while participating in complex and routine cases alike. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor learners in a growing academic environment as the health system launches its Anesthesiology Residency Program and develops an SRNA training program. The practice utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system to support seamless communication and coordinated patient care across the organization. To be successful in this role, you will be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist who is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You’ll value clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning while embracing opportunities to educate future physicians and advanced practice providers. Whether your passion is building an academic career, caring for complex surgical patients, or helping shape the next generation of anesthesia professionals, you’ll find a supportive culture with diverse clinical experiences, opportunities for professional growth, and the resources to build a rewarding long-term career.
