Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join their collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest medical technology in a nationally recognized facility. The position includes a diverse and challenging case mix, providing a comprehensive practice experience.

Practice Info

  • Short-term acute care hospital with 300 beds
  • Features a neonatal intensive care unit with 21 beds and on-site neonatologists
  • Diverse and challenging case mix includes general, endo, vascular, neuro, radiology, vascular, thoracic, urology, cardiac, bariatric, orthopedic, plastics ENT, OB, and GYN
  • Operates under a collaborative care team model

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

  • Salary: $525,000
  • Sign-on bonus incentives: $100,000

Shift & Schedule

  • Weekday call is 7:00 PM-7:00 AM with a guaranteed post-call day off
  • About 3 calls per month

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician
