Sanford Health is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join their team in Bemidji, Minnesota. This role offers a unique 2 weeks on/off schedule with no in-house call, supported by 24/7 CRNA coverage, promoting an excellent work/life balance. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive anesthesia management for a diverse range of surgical and obstetrical cases in a well-equipped facility. This is an opportunity to practice in an independent model within a Level III trauma center.
Practice Info
- The department provides anesthesia for 11,000 cases per year.
- Efficient and well-equipped operating rooms (12).
- Provides anesthesia for inpatient and outpatient procedures including vascular, TEEs (no open heart), ortho, general, ENT, eye, podiatry, OB/GYN, and urology.
- Independent practice model.
- 118 bed hospital with a 14 bed ICU.
- Level III trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examinations.
- Provide comprehensive management of patients of all ages rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical and obstetrical procedures.
Compensation
- Nationally competitive compensation plan.
- Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $447,490 - $579,105.
- Estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
- Additional incentives may be offered.

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency/fellowship of at least 3-4 years' duration in Anesthesia accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing a fellowship log if just completed a fellowship.
- If not applying directly out of a residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
- Must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months.
