Anesthesiologist Core Faculty

Carilion Clinic is seeking Anesthesiologists to join their team in Roanoke, Virginia, and contribute to the development of a new Anesthesia Residency Program slated for Summer 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide patient care at Carilion Medical Center, an 835-bed tertiary academic health center and Level 1 trauma center. The position also includes a tenure-track appointment at Virginia Tech, providing a unique blend of clinical practice and academic involvement.

• Interdisciplinary physician-led department focused on innovation in patient-centered care
• Clinical responsibilities in the Anesthesia Department at Carilion Medical Center (CMC)
• CMC is an 835-bed tertiary academic health center
• CMC is a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center
• 49 anesthetizing locations and NORA rooms
• Appointment at Virginia Tech in the tenure track at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor

• Patient care in the Anesthesia Department at Carilion Medical Center (CMC)

Compensation

• Competitive Salary which includes Guaranteed Base Salary plus incentive plans based on quality criteria, scorecard initiatives, and productivity
• Incentive Pay: Yes, two tier bonus plans
• Salary Range, $500,000 to $635,000
• You are eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary
• Sign on bonus

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
• ABA Board certification or Board eligibility
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, medications, and equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations
