Anesthesiologist - Columbus Regional - Full Time

Position

Fourth anesthesiologist needed for Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) in Whiteville, NC. New compensation package announced.

Team Lead: William Obrecht, MD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures.
• Pre‑anesthesia assessment.
• Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitor the patient's physiological condition.
• Perform clinical intervention as needed.

Schedule

• Three anesthesiologists present each day.
• Early out next day for the physician who has been on call.
• Call averages every third night and every third weekend.
• Call from home; no nighttime labor epidurals and very low utilization.

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• ECFMG and FLEX certification.
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
• Currently licensed as a physician.
