Position Description

Position available within the Anesthesia Department of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The role involves delivering anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery and other procedures, and coordinating with the anesthesia team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
• Provide medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures.
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessment.
• Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitor the patient’s physiological condition during procedures.
• Perform clinical interventions as needed.

Qualifications

• M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable).
• Completion of an approved residency in anesthesia.
• Current physician license.
• Must provide Articles of Incorporation for either an S‑Corp or C‑Corp.
• Must provide own malpractice insurance coverage for full state limits.
