The Anesthesiologist is responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care topatients undergoing surgical, procedural, and diagnostic interventions. This roleincludes pre-anesthesia assessment, development and implementation of anesthesiacare plans, intraoperative monitoring, post-anesthesia evaluation, and painmanagement. The Anesthesiologist works collaboratively with surgeons, CRNAs,nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patientcare. The anesthesiologist oversees the care provided to the patient by the C.R.N.A.

This position will be accountable to the President and CEO or their designee.

Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, including review of medicalhistory, medications, and diagnostic results.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans.
  • Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, as well as monitored anesthesia care(MAC).
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and physiological status throughout procedures.
  • Manage airway support and respond to emergent situations as needed.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and evaluate patients for recovery and pain control.
  • Participate in acute and chronic pain management services as applicable.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
  • Comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review activities.
  • Maintain continuing medical education (CME) requirements and professional licensure.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a medical degree and hospital Medical Staff privileges.
  • Excellentcommunication skills and proficiency with a computer.
  • Ability to effectively utilizecomputer programs; such as the hospital (Meditech) and clinic (ECW) informationsystems, and Microsoft Office.
