Primary Responsibilities
- Administers or supervises anesthesia for all types of procedures where qualifications allow. Selects, obtains and/or administers the anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic, to maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis, and to correct abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery. Is responsible for the complete medical care of the patients perioperative care - intra & postop.
- To provide general, regional, local and monitored anesthesia care services, including induction, maintenance and emergence and provide professional observation and resuscitative care.
- Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide care appropriate to the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population. This requires the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify age-specific patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
