Responsibilities
- Perform patient‑care, safety, and technical duties to support anesthesia and nursing teams in surgical and procedural areas.
- Respond to patient‑specific needs including blood, medications, supplies and equipment during the surgical procedure.
- Perform patient identification procedures to ensure proper delivery of blood products and medications.
- Operate surgical equipment under the direction of a licensed provider.
- Ensure all ORs and pre/post rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and equipment.
- Clean and prepare ORs, procedure, and pre‑post rooms for the next patient to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Clean equipment and implement infection control policies.
- Act as an active member of the anesthesia OR emergency response/code team, ensuring all emergency safety equipment is available and in working order.
- Assist in patient intake in specified pre‑post areas by obtaining height, weight, vitals, and attaching appropriate monitoring devices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of one year of clinical/hospital experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications
- Proficient in speaking and reading English.
- Computer skills required; proficiency with Microsoft computer systems.
- Self‑directed with ability to make independent decisions.
- Experience in a surgical area preferred.
- Experience with direct patient care (CNA or PCA) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Teamwork and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
- Strong independent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, and maintain focus during extended shift.
- Ability to use both hands, lift over 20 lbs., walk long distances, kneel/bend occasionally, and stand for long periods.
License or Certifications
BLS Certified or ability to be obtained within six months of hire. Acceptable certificates: American Heart Association “BLS Provider” or American Red Cross “Basic Life Support” or “CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.”
Compensation Detail
$20.46 - $28.25 / hour
Schedule Details
Full Time. Monday – Friday; varied day hours; 8‑hour shifts or 10‑hour shifts considered; no weekends; no holidays; overtime as needed.
