Position Summary
The Anesthesia Technician assesses the needs of the anesthesia care provider while preparing the surgical patient for anesthesia. He/she routinely cares for and prepares anesthesia supplies and monitoring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Connecting patients to monitors
- Preparing IV set-up
- Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
- Setting up an anesthesia machine
- Setting up non-invasive line monitoring room
- Setting up invasive line monitoring room
- Setting up continuous cardiac output monitoring
- Assisting in placement of invasive lines
Education
High school graduate or equivalent.
Certification & Experience
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
- Texas CNA or EMT preferred
- ACLS encouraged
- Certified Anesthesia Technician encouraged
- Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire required
- Successful completion of the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required
