Anesthesia Technician (Overnight)

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Join our team as an Anesthesia Technician and play a vital role in supporting anesthesia providers during surgical and special procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting with line placements and specialized procedures, processing specimens, performing EKGs, and ensuring all equipment is calibrated and ready for patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-5 years of related experience preferred
  • Anesthesia Technician, CNA, and/or CPR certifications preferred

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides skilled assistance to anesthesiology providers, such as assisting with special procedures, preparing equipment and supplies and providing medications for use by anesthesiologists.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares IV, central lines, and sets up transducers. Assists with rapid infusion of blood products, processes blood specimens, and completes EKG tests.
  • Sets up, primes, and calibrates various equipment. Completes and documents quality checks on various equipment.
  • Assists with special procedures to include, but not limited to, line-placement, fiber optic intubation, hemodilutions, echocardiograms, EEGs and regional anesthesia.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience

  • No Experience

Preferred Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

  • Anesthesia Technician
  • Certified Nurse Assistant
  • CPR/AED
