To support the development of custom devices, the full-time Android Framework Engineer will architect and implement Android system services, optimize hardware abstractions, and diagnose OS-level issues in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Architect and implement custom Android system services and hardware abstractions for headless AOSP builds Build testable system-level features using Kotlin, Java, Rust, and C++ to interface between the kernel and application layer Develop automated test suites and conduct root-cause analysis on system issues to maintain fleet reliability Required qualifications Practical experience designing versioned service interfaces using AIDL or HIDL Proficiency in Kotlin and Java with strong knowledge of OS threading concepts and memory management Experience building or debugging custom AOSP environments and shell scripts Capability to trace execution flow across different layers of the Android stack using diagnostic tools Experience with C or C++, Linux kernel drivers, or Qualcomm camera stacks is a plus
