Analyst, Compensation
We are seeking a Compensation Analyst to support the administration and analysis of employee compensation programs. This role involves working with base pay, incentive compensation, market pricing, job evaluations, and compensation reporting. The analyst will partner with HR and business stakeholders to ensure compensation programs are administered accurately and are aligned with market data and company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer compensation programs including salary administration, incentive plans, market pricing, and job evaluations.
- Review and process compensation transactions such as promotions, salary adjustments, job changes, and incentive awards.
- Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analyses using survey data and internal tools.
- Evaluate new and revised positions, perform job pricing, and develop compensation recommendations.
- Support compensation studies and prepare reports for HR and business leaders.
- Respond to compensation-related inquiries and data requests from cross-functional teams.
- Maintain compensation and position data within HRIS systems, including SAP.
- Ensure compliance with compensation regulations, including FLSA and Equal Pay Act requirements.
- Support employee recognition and incentive programs.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required. A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in compensation administration is required. This includes experience with base salary administration, market surveys, job pricing techniques, job evaluation, variable pay programs, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical and reporting skills are necessary. Experience with HRIS systems, with a preference for SAP, and advanced Excel skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or progress toward certification.
- Experience supporting compensation programs in a large corporate environment.
- Experience in the energy, utility, or a regulated industry.
Work Environment
This role involves the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and operate a personal computer for extended periods. The work environment is an office setting, and the position requires the ability to work with moderate daily pressure to meet frequent deadlines. Occasional overtime and travel may be necessary. The successful candidate may be required to remain in the service area during emergency events.
